Welcome to Attune Counseling. I'm a Marriage and Family Therapist -- let me work with you to
connect, grow, and heal!
My approach to everything is that “the whole is greater than the sum of its parts.” This explains how perfectly lovely people find themselves in unhealthy relational patterns that feel so far from where they began -- and also how they can become better together than just side by side. My role as a therapist is to help identify and change these patterns, so clients can achieve the goals desired. We will work collaboratively to find new and effective strategies for healthy and fulfilling relationships.
I received my Master’s of Science in Marriage and Family Therapy from Virginia Tech in 2012 and have worked in various clinical settings ever since. I specialize in, and am deeply passionate about, my work with couples and family systems. Additionally, I am trained in Eye Movement Desensitization and Reprocessing (EMDR), an empirically proven method for treating individuals with Post-Traumatic Stress Disorder (PTSD).
In addition to my Masters in Counseling, I have a Masters of Divinity (1999) from Columbia Theological Seminary in Decatur, Georgia, and a Bachelor’s Degree (1996) from Calvin University in Grand Rapids, Michigan. I served as an ordained Pastor for 12 years in varied and multicultural settings in Northern Virginia. This background allows me to incorporate a spiritual perspective, if desired, into my therapy work -- always respecting the faith background of my clients. I moved to the northern Chicago suburbs in 2013 with my family. My hometown is Ann Arbor, Michigan and I am happy to be back in the Midwest!
I will return your email within 24 hours.
